“I served in the 1st Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, in Vietnam in 1965, and 1966. After my discharge I worked as a photo-journalist in North Carolina in the late sixties, and early seventies. I then tried my hand at painting pictures. After a few years, I got tired of being a starving artist. So I went to college. I studied Economics and statistics. I received two AS degrees, a BA, and my MA. I then taught Economics at the college level for a number of years. When I wasn’t teaching, I went sailing offshore to a number of foreign ports. I retired from teaching in 2006. I still live on a sailboat.”
